Check out this strong, brave boy!





Sam David and Daddy took a short walk down the hall this morning.

Then, this afternoon, we got the great news!

We could GO HOME!

A day earlier than expected!!

Yay!





It didn't take long for Sam David to fall asleep.

He was worn out!

But, he has done extremely well since arriving home!

A Good Day

Yesterday was rough on my little guy!

Sam David was in a lot of pain and was so thirsty and hungry.

But, today was a new day!

Thanks to a good dose of pain meds, SD slept through the night!

Not long after waking, he was given the go-ahead for liquids by mouth.

So, it was time for the beloved red Popsicle!





The doc also said we needed to get Sam David up out of bed for a little bit today.

So, through the pain, he stood for about 15 minutes in the playroom earlier today.









When the doc made rounds this afternoon, he said that Sam David could go back to a regular diet!

Woo Hoo!

My sweet boy hasn't had solid food since Sunday night!

I just know that will speed his recovery along.

Looks like we will most likely be discharged this weekend.

Yay!

Home Away From Home

It sometimes feels like our local Children's Hospital is our home away from home.

We start seeing familiar faces when we pull into the parking lot.

We always get a friendly hello as we are walking in and getting checked in.

Then, we head up to "our floor".

The 5th floor.

I think one of our kiddos has been in just about every room on this floor.

Well, today is Sam David's turn.





He had to be admitted this morning in order to prep him for his bladder and bowel surgery that will take place tomorrow.





So proud of our brave boy!

This one really is no fun at all!





But, the end result is more independence!

So, yay!

Date Night

Last night, I had the honor of taking out this handsome fella for a date night!





I gave him the choice of ANY restaurant in town.

And, what did he choose?





Yep, the little burgers on a steamed bun!

After dinner, we goofed around a little and ended the night with Hot Cocoa and Coffee.

















A fun night, indeed!

Can't wait to do it again!
